Liam, who is originally from Nottingham, UK, recently joined Cranbrook Workshop as a CNC machinist/furniture maker and completed a Bachelor of Industrial and Furniture Design at the University of Sheffield before choosing to go into furniture design and production.

Where did you start your career?
After finishing my degree, I went on to work for a bespoke kitchen company called deVOL in Loughborough, starting out as a Junior Designer and quickly working my way up to Production Designer and CNC Programmer.

Why did you choose to work in furniture design?
I enjoy the design process involved in making a furniture piece along with producing a tangible product that others can interact with.

What are your biggest projects?
Producing Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher’s LA farmhouse kitchen which was featured in Architectural Digest.
Designing my own range of furniture from waste material without any mechanical fixings.

What do you love about working at Cranbrook Workshop? 
The variety of work on and off the 5-Axis CNC Machine. Two days are never the same at Cranbrook Workshop.

What are you working on at the moment?
 I am currently working on refining the drawings/manufacturing of the furniture we will be making for Robert Plumb HQ in Rochester Street.

Coogee Pavilion!  

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy cooking, playing and watching soccer and going to the beach whenever it’s not raining.
